The prices in this table are in Euros and apply to projects of 17 or more samples per discipline (per project). For projects of less than 17 samples spot sample prices apply, which are 1.5 x normal price.
Hot Shot services can be offered at 2 x normal price, with guaranteed reporting of results within 24 hours from receipt of the samples.
All prices are exclusive of BTW (VAT = 17.5 %).

The reports include:

• summary information on occurrences per interval
• age dating
• sequence stratigraphic information
• paleo-environmental estimates (where appropriate)
• appendices of occurrences per sample
• distributions charts

A Geohistory Analysis Diagram based on the biostratigraphy or project data can be added at € 117.-/well.

Nannofossils

Our nannofossil analysis comes in three styles:

Qualitative

This involves the preparation of a smear slide and the identification of marker species. The reporting is restricted to the presence/absence of marker species and their corresponding age estimates.

Semi-quantitative

This involves the preparation of a smear slide and the identification of all species in a set number of traverses. The reporting is on the relative abundance of each species and the preservation of the flora. The age estimate is based on the total assemblage and caved or reworked species are identified.

Quantitative

This involves the preparation of a set of smear slides, from which the one with the best nannofossil distribution will be selected, and the subsequent identification of all species. The reporting is on the absolute abundance of each species, to be counted in a pre-arranged manner or the client preferred manner. The preservation of the flora is also reported. The age estimate is based on the total assemblage and caved or reworked species are identified.

Foraminifera

Our foraminiferal analysis comes in three styles:

Qualitative

This involves the washing of the samples (possibly after crushing) and the identification of marker species. The reporting is restricted to the presence/absence of marker species and their corresponding age estimates.

Semi-quantitative

This involves:

• washing of the samples (possibly after crushing)
• picking specimens for a set time period and putting them in a microfossil slide
• identification of all species
• adding some washed sediment to the slide

The reporting is on the relative abundance of each species and the preservation of the fauna. It also includes a brief summary of accessory faunal components and an environmental estimate. The age estimate is based on the total assemblage and caved or reworked species are identified.

Quantitative

This involves:

• taking a set weight of dried sediment per sample
• washing of the samples (possibly after disassociation by soaking in petrol and subsequently putting them in hot water)
• picking all specimens from a certain portion of the washed residue and putting them in a microfossil slide
• identification of all species
• adding some washed sediment to the slide

The reporting is on the absolute abundance of each species and the preservation of the fauna. If required, the frequencies of species can be normalised and frequencies per set sediment weight can be reported. The report per sample also includes a brief summary of accessory faunal components and an environmental estimate. The age estimate is based on the total assemblage and caved or reworked species are identified.

Project participation

We are specialised in the integration of seismic data with biostratigraphic data and the assessment of existing (old) biostratigraphic reports to set up a sequence stratigraphic frame work for study areas.

We prefer to be involved in integrated studies, since it is our experience that our close co-operation with the clients experts guarantees the best results.

Our experts can be hired on an hourly or daily basis to participate in geological projects, either at J&G's office or at the client's office. The prices per expert are:

Less than three days € 70.- /hour 

Three days or more € 58.50 /hour 

These prices are exclusive of VAT (BTW) and any travel and accommodation costs involved in the project. Special bargain prices can be negotiated for long term projects (in wages/month).

Project execution

The J&G staff have ample experience in the execution and co-ordination of geological projects. Quotes can be obtained for all types of geological projects, with the prices being based on the above mentioned hourly rates and the estimated duration of the activities, and the rates of any other experts involved in the project. Special bargain prices can be negotiated for long term projects.
